We had the pleasure of speaking with the Founder of MMC to find out more about the Erotic Talent Agency and the recent impacts of the FOSTA/SESTA Legislation on the Firm.
SRA: Briefly Introduce MMC to The World, for those who don't yet know you.
MMC: We're not only Canada's best erotic talent agency but also one of the only "mother agencies" in the adult industry who offer international representation. We're a full service agency offering content production, post processing, web design, career planning and management, basic PR services, representation and job acquisition of course. We also offer our production clients a wide variety of services such as makeup artists, locations and multimedia production. We are also very proud to have been a key player in the expansion of TTS (talent testing services) to Canada. We've been featured on the AVN and XBIZ networks, the French Canadian television show "Classé XXX" (a reality show based around the Quebecois porn industry) as well as several other newspaper and radio articles across the country.
SRA: How Did MMC Begin, What Inspired You To Be Part Of The Adult Industry
MMC: I personally have been in the sex industry most of my life as my mother was a sex worker. I started filming my own content at the age of 20, mostly in Europe. At the age of 29 I met a woman and stopped filming porn. A few years later things didn't work out and I decided to get back into the adult industry. Since I couldn't find any talent agencies in Canada for my productions I decided to soft launch MMC at the Qwebec Expo in 2014... the response was great, the rest is history.
SRA: What Are Your Thoughts On The NEW Fosta/Sesta Legislation?
MMC: I personally believe that everything government does comes with ulterior motives and mostly misguided premises. These laws will only drive the sex trade underground and give organised crime more power and control over the sex trade which is the exact opposite of what these laws are "professed and intended" to do... it also jeopardises transparent professionals like MMC and the large number of independent sex workers who operate above board.
SRA: What Advice Would You Give To New Adult Businesses?
MMC: Do your research! The current state of the industry is very difficult to navigate and I've seen way too many people crash and burn because of their lack of understanding of this industry. Everyone loves sex, not everyone is a pornstar or otherwise capable of administering an adult business.
SRA: Do You Think Sex Sells Itself?
MMC: It definitely needs a helping hand. The sex industry is heavily saturated because everyone has a cell phone camera and a pornhub account nowadays. Good marketing and PR are absolutely necessary. Not to mention a high quality product to set you apart from the ever expanding content already available.
SRA: What Does The Future Hold For The Adult Industry?
MMC: I think technology has always been intertwined with human sexuality. The advent of VR and sex dolls as an example. As for MMC we have some very exciting projects which we're not yet ready to disclose publicly... but, stay tuned!
